1 June 2024 was the day. The official takeover of ENGEL. We, Elline and Serieke, are delighted to take over from Lisa and her team to breathe new life into ENGEL. With a healthy dose of courage and energy, we want to further establish this cool brand. Our ideas? Too many to mention! But we'd love to take you along on our new adventure.
Let me introduce myself
Elline first encountered ENGEL. products in 2010. At the time, Elline had a lovely gift and lifestyle shop in Delft that featured sustainable products, and ENGEL.'s items fit in perfectly. The love for ENGEL. products blossomed and has never faded. Elline's shop eventually closed, but ENGEL. stayed with her. After moving to Zwolle, Elline launched a new webshop: de Wonderzolder, a webshop offering fair and sustainable toys. And it was clear to Elline that ENGEL. products would also feature in this delightful webshop. Elline closely follows developments at ENGEL. and continues to sell their products with great pleasure. And did you know that the annual calendar has been hanging in Elline's home since 2019?
As a child, Serieke had one dream: to one day run her own business or shop. And in 2023, that day finally came. Serieke joined Wonderzolder, the webshop founded by Elline. Having grown up in an entrepreneurial family, Serieke was already accompanying her parents to large trade fairs at the age of 9. She loved it! ENGEL. is a brand that Serieke quickly fell in love with at Wonderzolder. In no time, her children were happily carrying the backpacks to school every day. And then came the phone call from Lisa: "We're going to sell ENGEL. as a brand. Aren't you interested?" Serieke didn't hesitate for a second and called Elline. "You'll never guess what phone call I just had. Are you coming along for the adventure?"
Lisa, Ivo and Alex; a huge thank you for the honest conversations, the good organisation surrounding the acquisition and the warm contact. We will enthusiastically continue working with ENGEL.
ENGEL. for the future
Endless ideas we're trying to streamline together. But what can you expect from ENGEL. in the coming years? We are certainly very busy with the annual calendar for 2025 right now. And alongside that, we're also redesigning the birthday calendars. The first new bags are expected mid-November. Exciting! These are 4 medium bags with 2 matching pouches. And of course, the bunting mustn't be forgotten! Two large bunting designs will be added to the collection mid-November. Bunting from the past with a contemporary twist. Because who wouldn't want the Circus bunting to make a comeback? The recognisable design, with today's colours. And so, we've made a start. There are more things on our wish list for 2025. Large bags, weekend bags, and maybe some cool wrapping paper? The tableware from the past was also so lovely… Plenty to think about.
