Working with social workshops is a challenge these days, and sourcing wood and staff has also become less straightforward. The wooden holder had to be made, and to make this possible, we set up our own workshop. My lovely and creative friends made it happen. With great patience, the pieces of wood were cut to size, over 5,000 holes were drilled, and with the help of our children, the end product was lovingly packaged.
When you're involved in every step of bringing a product to life, you truly come to love all the materials and the work. It starts with the design, gathering all the materials, the printing process, checking the colours, and last but not least, packaging the products. Not to mention the journey the calendar takes from the warehouse to the wall. When I consciously reflect on this, it immediately changes the way I go shopping and buy products myself.
The moment the product comes to life on the walls of various households, my heart leaps. That's when the party can truly begin! The enthusiastic reactions from the first recipients make me happy and content.
I see the children's enthusiasm as they are eager to help find a nice spot for the calendar. (Thank you Linda) And of course, they also want to be the first to write their own birthday on the calendar. And perhaps sometimes slightly disappointed because this month just doesn't have their favourite colour combination.
